Inspired by the ‘Mshondo’ - a tall, slender drum played by the Giriama tribe that produces a beautiful, round sound. Our interpretation of this tribal drum is made from untreated goatskin to create a lower frequency response.
This contrasts beautifully with the other íons in our range and provides the opportunity to create a very satisfying counterpoint to both the cajón and the other íons when playing. In terms of its aesthetics and sound, every player will want to have the Kenyan íon in their collection.
